True peace is not just the absence of war, as most people think. True spiritual peace is the absence of any conflict between people, peace in everyone's inner world, and peace between man and God. Non-war can be achieved in many ways, including politics and religions, through compromises based on logic. True inner and outer peace can only be achieved through connection with the source of world peace.
Religions have offered pathways to achieving peace by following orders and commandments that would "please" the tough God. Naturally, a person feels that he is always in a "minus" toward God and is forced to make up for this “minus” from time to time by sacrifices, or prayers (e.g., Yom Kippur).
The religions also proposed ways of compromise between the people through laws that would regulate a certain "justice." Such kind of justice will certainly demand in the future the abolition of those who do not uphold or agree with these laws.
The divine justice offered by Jesus was completely different. It consisted of cancelling every wall of enmity between man and man and between man and God, by absolute forgiveness without any restriction and by absolute love for every person (including enemies) without any distinction. This includes total reconciliation with God by erasing all of man's debt and by erasing every possible "debt" between man and man.
This state allows a person to feel true joy, peace and deep inner peace that will radiate to the environment and will also cause world peace.
27 Peace I leave to you, my peace I give you; Not in the way the world gives I give you (John 14:14).
3 "Blessed are the poor of spirit, for they have the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are the mourners, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the land. 6 Blessed are the hungry and thirsty for justice, for they will swear. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will have mercy. 8 Blessed are they who are kind, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are those who seek peace, for the sons of God will read. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of justice, for they have the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you if they shame and persecute you and insult you because of Me. 12 Rejoice and find that your reward is great in heaven; After all, this is how they persecuted the prophets who came before you." (The Gospel of Matthew, chapter 5).
