God's promises in the Bible

A main feature of the Holy books (the Old and the New Testament) deals with the great promises of God to the world. It is the basic element that has maintained the faith (and hope for a change of the world) for thousands of years until today.

God's promises began in the garden of Eden where God gave to Adam and Eve sovereignty and power over the whole earth which was cancelled after their fall into sin. God’s first promise was that the time will come and a Messiah will release mankind from the power of evil ( the "weed", the "devil") and will bring people back to “Paradise” where they will taste again the fruits of the tree of life and live forever.

God’s next promise came after the flood, when he promised that He will not destroy the earth again. Later on, He promises that He will give many children to Abraham (as many as the stars in heaven), in order to "build" a people of faith (Israel). His people will have problems but He will bring them form the exile to freedom and to the land of the promise, by providing them with faith and power to defeat their enemies. He also promised to arise from His nation, the Messiah, who will bring salvation to the world.

Many of these promises have already been fulfilled, including the great miracle of the return of the people of Israel from exile and the establishment of their state, but some of them remain unfulfilled.

A key element in all of God's connection with people in the scriptures is faith and trust in God's promises beyond human reasoning ! All the important events that happen in the Old and New Testament, happen not only in a miraculous way but also in a way contrary to the ΄΄logic΄΄ and against all odds !

The weak always defeats the strong one in a miraculous and irrational way. David defeats Goliath, the people of Israel defeat all the surrounding mighty nations. Moses, instead of dying at birth, enters the house and family of Pharaoh and becomes a great leader in Egypt and later the spiritual leader of his people despite his weakness in speech !

David, a humble shepherd becomes the greatest king in Jerusalem. The Messiah himself needs to be imprisoned, tortured, suffering and even die, to be resurrected ! Every birth of all unique people in the Bible happens miraculously and contrary to logic. Most of the leading women in the Bible were infertile or without organic ability to give birth – i.e. Sarah -. The most extreme example is that of the birth of Jesus without even physical contact ! (virgin birth).

All miracles also happen in a completely absurd way: the crippled walk, prophets face countless enemies and defeat them, born blind regain their sight, dead people are resurrected ...

Important events in the Bible also happen in a way contrary to any logic (separation of waters of the Red Sea, forty years of wandering in the desert, rain of manna, etc.)

Why, in fact, God did not produce simpler and "smoother" stories without all this absurdity ? Why did He let people suffering for years until he fulfilled His promises ?

The explanation is only one: to help in the spiritual development of people, to teach them the path of hope and faith against all expectations and against all odds, to teach them to abandon their "I" and their ego and trust on Him, by radically changing their consciousness and the "rational" way of thinking; to follow in their life the path of the "improbable", beyond the logic, the path of the spiritual "madness" of faith and the abolition of the "Me".

The four great promises of God that remain unfulfilled to this day:

1-. Elimination of sin and evil from all over the world.

2-. Overthrowing of the current world order and establishment of God”s Kingdom of love.

3- End of bodily decay and death (spiritual and physical salvation).

4. Resurrection of the dead.

At the heart of the unfulfilled promises is the promise of a fundamental change in the world and the introduction of a new world ("Kingdom of God"), free from suffering, sickness, or death.

But what exactly is the kingdom of God ? Is it a garden with beautiful flowers like in the Hollywood movies ? A special place high in the clouds in the sky ? A place for carnal pleasures (with lots of virgin women and plenty of food) ? A kingdom where the "chosen" people of God will be the dictators of others or where a strong and wise king will rule?

None of this. The kingdom of God, as Jesus explained, is first and foremost within us ! The way to achieve it is not through a physical uprising or an external war, but through an internal war, through revolution in the way we think, we behave (spiritual “cleansing”) and the way you see what is happening in the world ! The tools for this revolution are not demonstrations or knives or weapons, but spiritual tools.

Today's world is dominated by fear, sadness, disease, suffering and death, lack of goals, materialism and a failed attempt to achieve happiness only with temporary pleasures. Thus, the main tools for a revolution in the present situation (status quo) of the world are internal, spiritual.

We need to rebel against the current situation, “ignoring” what we see happening around us (and what they are “selling” us,) and start thinking differently. We need to stop compromising and start wondering whether pain, physical decay-corruption, death and wars are inevitable and a “normal” situation (“this is what it is”).

The classical concepts of the religions are in fact supporting the continuation of the current situation because they neutralize the spiritual abilities of the individual and turn him into just a "puppet" receiving instructions from the religious leadership. Classical religiosity teaches man to compromise.

They teach us that we have to learn to accept everything and be grateful, to say that everything comes "from above" and there is no way to understand the “why”.

The revolution must be made by changing this way of thinking,  by activating the mechanisms of faith that can overrule the logic and the physical laws ,by activating the power of prayer that can change everything and by stopping our spiritual compromise!

Believing in our spiritual powers contradicts much of what the religions teach us: "Who are you that you want to achive great things or to directly communicate and collaborate with God "?

We must stop believing in the religious propaganda that there are only selected people who have an "direct access" to “heaven”, and understand that God is only love and from his love flow rivers of compassion and grace. We can receive everything from Him through His grace (as a donation of love and not as a reward for our actions and orders).

We must change our consciousness in the direction of love without discrimination and towards everyone (even our “enemies”). We must understand that all human beings have a common enemy, evil (the devil of the world). If we unite and use our spiritual tools and especially the power of prayer, we can together (UNITED), and with God's help, change this world order !

So, the role of Jesus is so much emphasized ? Why He is so important in all these processes?

Surely not to in order to "subscribe” new members in the “Association of the Believers of Jesus" or to enforce  a Christian missionary… Actually, modern Christianity, for the most part, has entered into the same confusion of the other religions with an endless number of external commandments, (an updated version of Judaism..).

The central role of Jesus in the change of the order of the world stems from His doctrine and His activity, His revolution against the conventional religiousness and towards a development of a new world order, a kingdom of love. Jesus did not come to establish another religion or just to make a religious reform.

He came to show how we can reconnect with God as His beloved sons, how we can overcome pain and death, and how we can become spiritual people, be born again by the spirit, and begin to learn and use our mighty powers and our real potential. To take back the rights that were given to us in the creation of the world and which we lost them due to our sinful nature, and which we have transferred to the devil.

Jesus came to free us from our "debts" to God, our duties and to restore our relationship with Him.

He also came to show what is the true face of God. Billions of people believe in one God, but do not really know (and strongly disagree) about who He is and what His characteristics are.

He showed that God is only love, a love of self-sacrifice for the sake of others. He came to unite all people and all nations, without discrimination. He came to establish, first within us and in parallel in the whole world, the kingdom of love, here and now !

What, then, are the specific components of such a "new spiritual path," and how can we help fulfill God's unfulfilled promises and establish God's kingdom today?

1.   Spiritual purification: (with the help of the laws of the ideal spiritual person). Stop focusing on the "letter" of the Bible, but on its spirit! (Identification of the "pitfalls" that exist within the Bible.)

2.   Separation between the "voice" of God and the (harsher) "voice" heard by the angels in the Bible.

3.   Belief that the spiritual purification through Christ leads to the abolition of corruption and death. We must begin to question the eternal rule of death in the world and believe in the idea of life and immortality.

4.   Unification of the whole world through the unifying and complete gospel of Jesus (not related to the classical Christian religion). Stoping criticizing others in any way and striving for spiritual unity.

5.   Love for all, without any distinction and elimination of the wall of enmity between God and man and between all people.

6.   Spiritual warfare through prayer. Learning to develop the "secret" prayer (not just the classical religious prayers)

7.   A constant  struggle to change our consciousness about God's character (to understand that God is love and that He is a loving Father to all people) and to believe that the present world can be overthrown and a new one established, based on love (divine kingdom).

8.   To believe that we can actively participate in God's plans to change the world and become workers and "co-founders" of the Kingdom of love.

9.   To recover our sovereign rights and spiritual powers, and gifts of the Holy Spirit within us. To believe that the way of miracles was not only the privilege of the spiritual leaders of the past, nor just "beautiful stories", but things that we can all experience and practice here and now!
